Christmas decorations are the heart and soul of your tree. Beginning with your babies first Christmas. You can add another ornament with each passing year. This brings treasured memories with each year of trimming your tree. When your favorite aunt needle points your kids name into a ornament this is a special tribute. When your children start school they will build your collection with their craft ornaments.

For us that are baby boomers we usually decorate our tree with the glass bulbs because we know they will not be broken. With the advent of many different hued trees we can change our bulbs to match or contrast with the color. We can still use the old ornaments for character and add more for a different look. Bringing a bulb wrapped for a present is a nice touch when you are invited to parties during the holiday season.

The high school sold bulbs that represented their school colors and mascots for a fund raiser last year. This is another way to add to your special assortment to decorate the following year. There are so many themes that you have a hard time deciding.

You can always add more trees in other rooms to continue using other themes, to the delight of your guests. Even seeing the retro trees brings back memories. I still remember the foil colored tree with the spinning light to change the colors as it spun. Now there are trees with the fiber optic lights to accomplish the same effect. Artificial trees of today look like the trees in the forest. Just adding the ornaments that make us happy will enchant our season and our guests that visit.
