Nowadays, bath towels form an essential part of most households. In fact, many homes tend to have these in good numbers. Bath towels are mainly used to dry the hair and skin at the end of washing your body in bathtubs or under showers. At present, bath towels are manufactured from piled or looped cotton, terrycloth, or cotton blended with other polyesters. It is interesting to point out that prior to the 1890s, bath towels were crafted from linen only, and towels made from terrycloth arrived later. The use of towels was quite limited in that era, as citizens didn't bathe so often.

Now, towels are necessarily needed by all households, enabling the family and guests to get dry after a shower or bath. When it comes to buying towels, you should keep in mind the quantity needed, the material and its quality, and the design of the towel.

You can get bath towels in a wide range colors and designs. You may procure towels that blend in with the color of the bathroom walls or the floor mat, and even your shower curtains. In case your bathroom is neutral colored, you may consider highlighting the area by including towels in appropriate colors, or retain the neutral looks by including towels in attractive textures, like waffled or ribbed.

You can give stylish looks to your bathroom by having monogrammed towels, which incidentally make a great wedding gift too. You can have towels monogrammed with wreaths, initials and crowns etc. Generally, such unusual towels aren't put to use, but simply displayed over the rest of the towels one finds hanging in bathrooms.

It's not difficult to assess the number of towels you require at home. You just need to assess the number of members in the family and anticipate the number of visitors from time to time.
